Danushka was with us (myself and my friend) as our Driver for 10 days, touring from Kandy to Sigiriya to Nuwara Eliya to Ella and finally to Unawatuna. Easy to communicate with, Danushka’s knowledge of English is excellent. Always respectful, courteous and considerate Danushka was more than a driver. His knowledge of Sri Lankan flora and fauna, customs and culture introduced to us a wider insight of the country, pointing out to us a rare creature, a cinnamon or pepper tree. As a guide we were given opportunity to visit for waterfalls, lakes that would otherwise have remained hidden to us; lost in the passing journey of the car from destination to destination. Danushka accompanied us wherever appropriate, sharing his knowledge of the particular monument or ancient site. We felt safe with Danushka, taken care of, looked out for. Making life easy seeking out a good price for a replacement phone charger when mine died! Always interested in exchanging information, bright and great company, Danushka was more than just a driver: guide, interpreter, good value excellent hotel finder, authentic Sri Lankan food and fruit introducer Danushka became a valued friend. It was truly an honour and a pleasure to have shared time with Danushka on our journey and genuinely sad to part ways when we did. It would not have been possible to experience the sights seen with such ease without a driver and car. If you are thinking to do the same, on your travels in Sri Lanka, do not hesitate to contact Danushka. Danushka provided us with a truly memorable and happy experience. We will be forever thankful.

A friend recommended to travel with Dhanushka and it was the best decision we could have made! He was a very safe driver, always open to interesting conversations and very flexible. We were unlucky and got sick several times on our trip – Dhanushka helped with everything, was very flexible to adjust the trip itinerary and even dates several times. He was able to get us cheaper rates at hotels and knows very beautiful spots and nice people all around the island. We can’t imagine a better way to get around Sri Lanka since it’s not very safe or recommendable to drive by yourself, and busses and trains do exist but take up a lot of time and are not reliable, which can be difficult if your time is limited.

As we are not much into guided tours, we hired a driver to go without hurries from Anuradhapura to Galle, passing by Polonaruwa, Sigiriya, Dambulla, Kandy, Ella and at least one national park in 10 days. So it was a great and very nice surprise when the driver, Dhanushka, turned out to reveal himself not only a good driver, but also the best guide we could ever whished for. He gave us a lot of good advices and suggestions, always in an unobtrusive way, never pressing us, he always accepted every change of plans without posing any problems, and he quickly became a great companion and also a trustful friend. If it wasn’t for him, probably our visit to the amazing country that is Sri Lanka would have been less interesting, despite we did our homework studying the country and choosing what to visit.

I would absolutely recommend visiting Sri Lanka for any kind of vacation you’re looking to take. It’s one of the most diverse and beautiful countries in the world. If you want to relax on the beach, hike the mountains, do a safari, experience the culture, or a mixture of it all, Sri Lanka will not disappoint. If you’re visiting Sri Lanka, the only way to visit is with Dhanushka showing you around. We lucked into being set up with him on our 2nd day when trying to take the train from Colombo to Kandy. This was a best decision we made throughout the whole trip. He made sure we saw and did everything we wanted to do while keeping us safe and on the right track. Also having a driver and a vehicle to explore the country was the absolute best way to explore. It made covering a lot of ground possible when it otherwise wouldn’t have been feasible. He not only was super knowledgeable about everywhere we wanted to go, but was an incredibly friendly and fun person to spend time with. He took great care of us and always made a great effort to help us find all the things we were looking for as we traveled. By the end of the trip we were good friends and greatly enjoyed traveling around the countryside with Dhanushka. I wouldn’t want to visit Sri Lanka again without spending it with him!
